The Marlette Regional Hospital (MRH) Foundation will be celebrating the 34th anniversary of the Tree of Shining Love (TSL) event this Christmas season. We are pleased to announce that this year’s TSL event will pay special tribute to Dan Babcock, Chief Executive Officer for his years of dedication, visionary leadership for United Healthcare Partners and as an advocate for rural health in the State of Michigan.
Dan began his career in healthcare at Marlette Regional Hospital over twenty years ago. During his tenure, he served as the hospital’s Controller, Chief Financial Officer, and was appointed as Chief Executive Officer in July 2010.
Over the past twelve years as CEO, Dan has demonstrated proven leadership, innovation, and has embodied MRH’s values – Every Patient, Every Employee, Every Time. His visionary leadership led to the establishment of United Healthcare Partners (UHP). Since its inception, UHP has grown into three organizations, Deckerville Community Hospital, Marlette Regional Hospital, and, most recently, The Heartlands Senior Living.
Throughout Dan’s healthcare career, he has been an advocate for rural health in the State of Michigan. He has actively served on several committees and boards, including Thumb MRI, Thumb Rural Health Network, Sanilac Medical Control Authority, Hospital Council of East Central Michigan, P.C.U.P.S Foundation, and the Michigan Hospital Association.
As Dan begins his new journey in January 2023, he leaves a legacy of progress, dedication, and an indelible mark on the healthcare industry all while staying true to the mission to continuously improve the quality of health in the communities we serve.
The MRH Foundation’s Tree of Shining Love event invites the public to honor or memorialize the special people in their lives. Those honored and memorialized will be recognized in a special presentation at the Tree of Shining Love Ceremony on Sunday, December 4, 2022, and in local forms of media during the holiday season. This year’s event proceeds will benefit The Heartlands Community Center.
