Marlette Regional Hospital Pharmacy is pleased to announce a new Pyxis MedStation system has been installed by BD (Becton, Dickson and Company) to enhance medication availability while increasing patient safety. This will ensure medications and supplies are available when and where they are needed, specifically after hours.
The new Pyxis MedStation system will reduce dispensing errors through advanced software that allows for better communication with our electronic medication administration record. This advanced software also translates to increased accuracy in our medication charges. Marlette Regional Hospital’s Pharmacy Manager Ian Bradley, PharmD says, “Our new Pyxis cabinets will increase medication capacity by a minimum of 20% and up to 100% in some locations. This increased capacity combined with other physical capabilities will correlate to reduced time to therapy for the patient, which can make a life-changing difference.”
BD supports Marlette Regionals Hospital by devoting innovative technology, services and solutions that best fit the organization. By working in close collaboration, MRH will enhance outcomes, lower costs, increase efficiency and improve safety.
