MRH Foundation Celebrates Successful Golf Fundraiser ~ The Marlette Regional Hospital Foundation’s thirteenth annual Driving for Health golf event on September 9th was another extraordinary record-setting event. The golfers were able to enjoy some cooler weather in the morning and warmer temperatures in the afternoon. Most would say it was a perfect day for golf!
The Marlette Regional Hospital Foundation’s Golf Committee and a very dedicated group of volunteers worked diligently all year long to plan and execute this annual event with a goal to closely match last year’s record-setting event. Thanks to their hard work, along with the support received from 38 golf teams, 75 generous business sponsors and 37 in-kind donors, this year’s event was the highest in proceeds raised netting over $44,886.75 for The Heartlands Community Center.
The day’s festivities were enjoyed by all with various contests and games played on the course, but the ultimate challenge was to win first place for the men’s team, women’s team, or mixed division. Winning teams were awarded Yeti tumblers, MRH camp chairs, and golf certificate prize packages:
- Leibler Insurance Agency took first place for the men’s division with a score of 52. Winners Jeff Liebler, John Liebler, Jason Hollenbeck, and Nate Hollenbeck.
- Tri-County Bank and Leibler Insurance Agency took first place for the women’s division with a score of 67. Heartlands Executive Director, Jenna Muxlow awarded team members Sheryl Cribbins, Cathy Lorenzen, Kendra Jickling, and Meredith Lyons.
- Sandusky Auto Sales took first place for the mixed division with a score of 63. Team members Rich Degelbeck, Jr., Dana Gonzalez, Ken Stevens, and Holly Stevens.
COVID-19 precautions were taken again this year, with facemasks and hand sanitizer available to all golfers and contact safety measures for various contests, games, and raffles. The Marlette Regional Hospital Foundation expresses sincere thanks to all of the golfers, sponsors, in-kind donors, and our volunteers who supported and made this year’s event a roaring success.
