SANILAC COUNTY COMMUNITY MENTAL HEALTH SUPPORTS LOCAL B.C.U.P.S PROGRAM

Sanilac County Community Mental Health Supports Local B.C.U.P.S Program ~ Marlette Regional Hospital’s extends a sincere thanks and appreciation to CEO Wil Morris from Sanilac County Community Mental Health (CMH) as he recently presented a $771.00 donation to Marlette Regional Hospital’s (MRH) B.C.U.P.S. program from their “Casual for a Cause” fundraiser. CMH employees participate in “Casual for a Cause” by dressing casually on Fridays in exchange for a donation to local non-profit causes that benefit residents of Sanilac County. This generous donation will support breast cancer screenings and diagnostics performed at Marlette Regional Hospital, as well as, grant funding for Thumb Area residents who have been diagnosed with breast cancer.

Breast Cancer Understanding Prevention and Screening (B.C.U.P.S.) program is in place to financially assist patients in acquiring important 3D screening mammograms and diagnostic testing services such as a diagnostic mammogram, breast ultrasound, or an ultrasound-guided breast biopsy. B.C.U.P.S. program screenings and testing services are performed at the Gordon and Gayle Miller Foundation Women’s Imaging Center at Marlette Regional Hospital.

For patients that have been diagnosed with breast cancer and are currently undergoing treatment, B.C.U.P.S. provides grant funding and applicants are eligible to reapply for funding every 6 months. Grant funding is available to residents of Sanilac, Tuscola, Lapeer, and Huron Counties based upon current program funding.

Patients that do not have health insurance coverage or those who are underinsured (limitations with coverage, large out-of-pocket deductible, younger than age criteria for screening, etc.) may qualify for screening and testing services through the B.C.U.P.S. program.

Don’t let financial constraints, lack of health insurance, or a high deductible prevent you from having life-saving testing and screenings. For more information about the B.C.U.P.S. program, please call 989-635-4000 or visit  https://marletteregionalhospital.org/bcups-program/
