MRH Welcomes Back Dr. Robbins to Marlette Community ~ Marlette Regional Hospital (MRH) is pleased to welcome the return of board-certified family medicine physician Donald H. Robbins, Jr., DO to the medical staff. Dr. Robbins began his medical career in Marlette and is looking forward to serving patients again in his home community.
Dr. Robbins received his medical degree from Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kirksville, Missouri, and began a private practice at Marlette Regional Hospital in the fall of 1983. Over the course of 28 years in private practice and 10 years most recently practicing in Cass City, Dr. Robbins developed life-long relationships with his patients and it’s his desire to provide care to them closer to their home communities. Dr. Robbins shares, “A hospital is supposed to be a place where people feel cared for and comforted, and I want to help my current patients transition their care to a hospital system where their health needs will be addressed now and for the rest of their lives.”
Over the last decade, Dr. Robbins has precepted many medical students from Central Michigan University in an effort to pass on the trade, teach patient-centered care, and give them experience working in a rural setting. Dr. Robbins comments, “As I transition into retirement, I would welcome an opportunity to precept and train a young doctor so that I can pass on my knowledge and years of experience. Medicine is about developing relationships with your patients, knowing your patients and their needs, and doing everything you can to improve their quality of life.”
Dr. Robbins will be practicing out of Marlette HealthCare Services in Suite 5 of the Medical Office Building at Marlette Regional Hospital with scheduled clinic days on Mondays and Tuesdays from 12 p.m. – 5 p.m. For more information or to schedule an appointment, please call 989-635-4344.
