MRH Nursing Scholarships Awarded

Kimberley James and Mackenzie Kelly Awarded MRH Nursing Scholarships ~ Each year, Marlette Regional Hospital (MRH)’s ∑3 Nursing Team—the Knight ‘n’ Gales—offers a scholarship opportunity to MRH employees pursuing a nursing degree or additional nursing certification. This year, Kimberley James and Mackenzie Kelly were awarded $500 scholarships!
Kimberley has been part of the MRH team for five years and currently works as a registered nurse in the emergency department and United Hospice Service. Kimberley is currently pursuing her family nurse practitioner certification from Chamberlain University and would like to work in an urgent care or family practice setting upon finishing her degree. Kimberley shares, “My goal would be to work in a rural area where I could help people in the community I live in.”

Mackenzie has been part of the MRH team for over two years and currently works as an EMT and phlebotomist. Mackenzie is currently pursuing an accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Oakland University with aspirations to work as a registered nurse and pursue nurse practitioner certification. “I am interested in the nursing field, because I love to help others and provide care and education to patients.”

The Knight ‘n’ Gales would like to thank all of the applicants for this year’s scholarship and invite you to join them in congratulating Kimberley and Mackenzie for their commitment to providing exceptional patient care at MRH.
This scholarship is funded through the MRH Nightingale Fund, which was founded to support children’s education in the community as well as support nursing education at MRH.
