MRH Foundation Goes Virtual with 32nd Annual Tree of Shining Love Event

MRH Foundation Goes Virtual with 32nd Annual Tree of Shining Love Event ~ The Marlette Regional Hospital (MRH) Foundation will be keeping with tradition by observing the 32nd anniversary of the Tree of Shining Love this Christmas season. The Tree of Shining Love is a special fundraising campaign that offers unique opportunities for businesses, organizations, and individuals to partner with us while supporting a worthy cause.

The global pandemic known as COVID-19 brought to light many things this year. Certain professions, including healthcare, became “essential,” never skipping a beat when so much was unknown about this virus. Traditional life celebrations and memorials either happened in a different format, or they didn’t. Vacations and trips were cancelled and we stayed home more. It changed the way we are living our lives and will continue to do so into the foreseeable future.

Something that hasn’t changed is our desire to connect with others, and the Tree of Shining Love offers a public way of recognizing and remembering those dear to us, while supporting a worthy cause at Marlette Regional Hospital. With COVID-19 restrictions remaining in effect for our most vulnerable populations, specifically our nursing home residents, the MRH Foundation and its volunteers couldn’t think of a better fund recipient than our long-term care unit. This year’s event proceeds will benefit needed resident equipment such as support lifts, specialty wheelchairs, and improvements to the nurses’ station within the long-term care unit. Any remaining funding will support beds and mattresses for our residents.
The MRH Foundation has elected to replace our in-person ceremony with a virtual event. All event sponsors and those honored and memorialized by the general public will be recognized in a special video presentation that will be posted to YouTube and the Marlette Regional Hospital Facebook page. Tribute names and sponsors will also be read on Sanilac Broadcasting.

The public is invited to honor or memorialize the special people in their lives. This year’s event pays special tribute to essential workers, and the public is invited to recognize the essential workers in their life. Photos are welcome for our special video presentation.
