Tick-Talk Lunch & Learn in Marlette ~ August 15th ~ Please RSVP

Tick-Talk Lunch & Learn in Marlette ~ “Tick-Talk: What You Need to Know About Tick-Borne Diseases & Prevention” will be the topic of a Community Lunch & Learn at Marlette Regional Hospital on Wednesday, August 15 from noon to 1 p.m.

The guest presenter is Erik Foster, MS, BCE, a medical entomologist from the Michigan Department of Health & Human Services. According to Erik, ticks and tick-borne diseases are emerging and expanding in the State of Michigan. An especially disturbing concern is that blacklegged ticks and Lyme disease previously reported in western Michigan and the UP have recently been identified in Michigan’s Thumb Region. Best rest assured, Erik will provide simple prevention techniques to help “fight the bite!”

Community Lunch & Learn is an educational series offered by Marlette Regional Hospital that aims to educate the greater Thumb Area community of local resources and assets that will help them achieve a healthy lifestyle and better quality of life.

Space is limited and registration is required. To register, please call 989-635-4002. To stay updated on future offerings, visit www.marletteregionalhospital.org or “Like” us on Facebook.
