Charlie’s Angels Quilting Group Donates 1,000th Quilt to Hospice

Charlie’s Angels Quilting Group Donates 1,000th Quilt to Hospice ~ A group of women from Huron, Sanilac, and Tuscola counties—Charlie’s Angels Quilting Group—recently made their 1,000th donation of hand-made quilts to United Hospice Service of Marlette Regional Hospital.

Brenda Miller of Bad Axe organized this quilting group in 2010 after her brother, Charlie, passed away in the Hospice Residence located in Marlette. She and her family were touched to receive her brother’s quilt, and she became motivated to help support and provide to this cause. Every quilt donated by this group has been unique in both color and pattern, and each is labeled, “May this blanket bring you peace and comfort.”

It is tradition at United Hospice Service to gift a special, hand-crafted quilt to their patients receiving hospice care at home or at the Hospice Residence in Marlette. These quilts provide a little extra comfort and warmth to patients in their time of need, and are later passed on to provide peace and comfort to the grieving family.

United Hospice Service Director Shelli Greschaw, RN, BSN states, “These quilts are so unique and appreciated by our patients and their families. This group of dedicated ladies have such big hearts and we thank them for their continued support of our hospice program.”

United Hospice Service provides end-of-life care to residents of Sanilac, Huron, St. Clair, Lapeer, and Tuscola counties. For more information about UHS, please contact 800-635-7490 or visit www.marletteunitedhospice.org.
