MRH Laboratory Receives CAP Accreditation

Marlette Regional Hospital Laboratory Receives CAP Accreditation ~ Marlette Regional Hospital’s (MRH) laboratory has been awarded accreditation by the Accreditation Committee of the College of American Pathologists (CAP), based on the results of a recent on-site inspection of the laboratory and cardiopulmonary departments.

The laboratory’s medical director, John C. Liao, MD, was advised of this national recognition and congratulated for the excellence of the services being provided. The laboratory at MRH is one of more than 8,000 CAP-accredited laboratories worldwide.

During the CAP accreditation process, inspectors examine the laboratory’s records and quality control of procedures for the preceding two years. CAP inspectors also examine laboratory staff qualifications, as well as the laboratory’s equipment, facilities, safety program and record, in addition to the overall management of the laboratory. This stringent inspection program is designed to specifically ensure the highest standard of care for all laboratory patients.

CAP is the worldwide leader in laboratory quality assurance. The College advocates accountable, high-quality and cost-effective patient care.

Please join Marlette Regional Hospital in congratulating Dr. Liao, Laboratory Manager Linda Bush, MT, Cardiopulmonary Manager Katrina Pandrea–Moorehead, and all of their department staff for their exceptional efforts in assuring high quality laboratory services for patients throughout the Thumb Region!
