CMU Medical Student Partners with MRH Provider in Lapeer County

CMU Medical Student Partners with MRH Provider in Lapeer County ~ On January 14th, Marlette Regional Hospital will warmly welcome a third-year Central Michigan University (CMU) College of Medicine (CMED) student to their facility and our Thumb Area communities.

This student will work in partnership with clinical physicians and staff as part of a six-month program called the Comprehensive Community Clerkship (CCC) that aims to expand upon their previous two years of classroom studies. CMED has a strong desire to provide a sustainable supply of highly-trained physicians to underserved regions of Michigan and the Midwest, and this is Marlette’s fifth year hosting students.

Amy Musial of Birch Run, MI will work in partnership with Dr. William Starbird in North Branch serving patients’ family health care needs. Amy completed her undergraduate studies at Ferris State University and earned a degree in biology/pre-medicine. Her interests include running, hiking, playing with her cat, painting, and ceramics.

“Our partnership with CMED has given us tremendous opportunities to showcase our hospital, healthcare clinics, and other services to future physicians of our area. We are excited to welcome Amy to our communities and to help her in her educational pursuit while also helping her learn more about us and the practice of rural medicine. Please join me in welcoming Amy to our communities,” remarks MRH’s Chief Executive Officer Dan Babcock.
Amy will work in partnership with Marlette Regional Hospital through June 2019.
