Stone Lodge Employees Raise Funds for B.C.U.P.S. Program

Stone Lodge Employees Raise Funds for B.C.U.P.S. Program ~ In observance of Breast Cancer Awareness Month last October, The Stone Lodge Restaurant & Tavern of Port Sanilac hosted a month-long fundraiser to benefit the B.C.U.P.S. (Breast Cancer Understanding, Prevention and Screenings) program at Marlette Regional Hospital.

Throughout the month of October, the Stone Lodge raffled off painted pumpkins that were donated by local artists as well as baskets. In addition to their staff “Rocking the Ribbon” by wearing pink to support breast cancer awareness, they, along with the community, contributed daily to the cause. The Stone Lodge family was pleased to present the Marlette Regional Hospital Foundation with a check for $1,500 to benefit the B.C.U.P.S. program.

The B.C.U.P.S. program provides free mammogram screenings for uninsured and underinsured patients, and full or partial financial assistance to those who qualify and need additional diagnostic testing services. The program most recently expanded to award limited grant funding to patients that have been diagnosed with breast cancer. The program services residents of Sanilac, Huron, Tuscola and Lapeer Counties.

Marlette Regional Hospital extends its sincere thanks to The Stone Lodge family and its patrons for supporting this worthy cause and patients in our local communities!
