Marlette Regional Hospital Pharmacy Receives ACHC Accreditation ~
Marlette, MI- Marlette Regional Hospital’s (MRH) pharmacy has been awarded accreditation by the Accreditation Commission for Health Care (ACHC) Pharmacy Compounding Accreditation Board (PCAB) based on the results of an on-site evaluation of the pharmacy’s compounding practices.
The pharmacy’s manager, Leonard Ligeski, was advised of this national recognition and congratulated for the pharmacy’s commitment to quality, integrity, and compliance of PCAB standards.
The PCAB assesses pharmacies that compound medications for retail, hospital, mail order, and closed door operations. This includes the combining, mixing, or altering of drug ingredients to create patient-specific prescription medications.
PCAB accreditation in combination with the pharmacy’s commitment to compliance significantly reduces the risk associated with compounding medications and demonstrates a commitment to meeting the highest industry standards for quality and patient safety.
MRH Clinical Services Director Hilda Hebberd remarks, “On behalf of Marlette Regional Hospital, we’d like to congratulate our exceptional pharmacy staff for their dedication and commitment to quality and safety practices. Out of the 30+ Michigan hospitals that work with Pharmacy Systems Inc., we were the only one that received full accreditation on the first attempt.”
