B.C.U.P.S. Grant Fund Testimonial ~ Shelley DeLisle age 48 of Kingston, MI discovered a lump in her breast in May of this year and quickly followed up with her doctor. Through a diagnostic mammogram, ultrasound and biopsy, it was determined that the lump was breast cancer. When she received her diagnosis, she described it as “very overwhelming.”
As an active working wife, mother, and young grandmother with many other challenges and responsibilities, Shelley began this new journey with her faith leading her each step of the way. “I felt like I was in a perpetual state of fogginess,” Shelley shared when describing the day-to-day and navigating her way through insurance, approvals, co-pays, and deductibles.
After starting her radiation treatments in July of this year, a friend contacted her and shared information about the B.C.U.P.S. program at Marlette Regional Hospital. B.C.U.P.S. provides grant funding to patients with breast cancer. Shelley applied and received her first grant from the B.C.U.P.S. program in August to use however she needed it most.
“We sincerely appreciate this support as we navigate through this challenging time in our lives,” commented Shelley and husband Buddy DeLisle.
